Devasthan Archaeological site located at Devasthan (Lat. 26.103992, Long. 93.0133304) and it is listed by Directorate of Archaeology, Assam since 1984. The site appears to be comprises of nine brick mounds containing temple remains and stone relics such as sculptures, doorjambs, lintels, Siva lingas, and Yonipiṭhas. Stylistically the site dated back to c. 8th -12th Century CE. One mound preserves a Siva linga and Yonipiṭha, while another reveals a garbhagṛiha. Several ARCH-ESTT0CNSR/5/2024-ESTT-ARCH-Directorate of Archaeology I/1367188/2025 sculptural and architectural fragments are curated in an on-site gallery adjacent to a water tank. Most of the mounds are yet to be excavated.
It is 35 km away from the Hojai Railway station and all weather motorable road. It can reach the Site by vehicle. Devosthan Archaeological site has a group of mounds of brick plinth and also stone temple components.
